If you enjoy riding through the forest or just open land, then this is the perfect off-roading spot for you! Missouri offers five awesome spots to take your ATV, UTV or dirt bike and enjoy time with friends or family.
1. Mark Twain National Forest
This woodland has a variety of landforms, including desert and forest terrain. Bald eagles and white-tailed deer are among the animals that can be seen. You get a sense of privacy and tranquility with the steep mountains and lonely meadows. There are approximately 80 miles of multi-use trails to keep you occupied for the entire weekend. There are three locations along the trails where you can park your RV or pitch a tent if you need to rest. For more information, click here.
2. Smurfwood Trails
Located in Lewis County, is full of wild trails and the unique landscape of Northeast Missouri. There's enough mud and dirt to get messy all day on the 20 miles of ATV trails. You can drive through timber, farmland, and mud bogs on the 680 acres of land. Don Grimwood, the owner, is most known for using his construction skills to build numerous bridges to improve the trails for riders. He has also built cabins and provided RV hookups to the campground if you need a place to stay. After a long day of riding, relax on the beach or relax in the hammock on the property. 3. Perry Lake ATV Trail
Open daily from dawn to night and offers a diverse range of terrain, including miles of tiny wooded trails, steep and challenging hill climbs, and deep mud puddles. Although there is a special beginner level section with a tiny track and small jumps, the park is largely designed for expert riders due to the area's mostly tough terrain. Although there is no charge to ride, there are some basic amenities such as picnic tables and shelters. While overnight parking is not permitted, there are a number of campgrounds in the vicinity that surround the neighboring lake. For more information, click here.
