Owning a DRR USA EV is not just about enjoying the thrill of an electric ride; it's also about the potential to personalize and upgrade your vehicle to match your needs and style. Here’s a guide to some of the customizations our customers do most often.
Please note that any electrical upgrades REQUIRE the installation of a 12-volt lead acid battery underneath the seat. You CANNOT connect any electrical upgrades to the main lithium-ion battery. Be sure everything connected to your accessory 12v lead battery pulls less than 8-amps of power.
Lighting Upgrades
Adding additional lighting can improve both the safety and aesthetics of your EV. Consider installing LED light bars for better visibility during night rides or low-light conditions. These are generally straightforward to install with basic tools and wiring knowledge, making them a great entry-level upgrade.
2. Snowplow Attachment for Winter Utility
If you live in a snowy area, attaching a snowplow to your EV can turn it into a powerful tool for clearing driveways and pathways. Certain models can be controlled by an additional button on the handlebars to lift and put down the plow. A universal 16" plow works well in most instances.
3. Utility Boxes or Cargo Racks
For those who use their EV for work or longer adventures, adding utility boxes on the cargo racks can greatly enhance your vehicle's carrying capacity. These upgrades are perfect for hauling tools, camping gear, or other essentials you need on the go. Simply mount it to the racks that come standard on our ATVs.
Be sure to read your owner's manual for cargo weight limitations.
4. Agricultural Tool Attachments: Sprayers, Seeders, etc.
For those using their DRR EV on the farm or in the garden, adding agricultural tool attachments like sprayers, seeders, trailers, or small cultivators can significantly expand your EV's utility. These tools can help with planting, fertilizing, and maintaining large areas efficiently.
5. Tire and Wheel Upgrades
Changing your tires can dramatically alter the performance of your EV, especially if you frequently ride on different terrain or want to enhance the aesthetic appeal. Your EV comes standard with off-road tires.
6. Comfort Enhancements: Seats and Grips
Comfort is key, especially if you're planning long rides. Upgrading your seats to feature a backrest and cargo container may be ideal for you. You can also replace standard grips with cushioned or heated ones for added comfort in colder weather (as long as they are 12-volt).
